What is it?
Well simply put it is a combination of an unmanned aerial vehicle and a GoPro camera attached to it. This combination is used for aerial photography. There are also different kind of drones, such as quadcopters and toy planes. Most of the ones we talk about here are quadcopters. More specifically hybrid UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle).
Choosing the right equipment can be tricky and confusing. Here you can find quadcopter reviews that will help you make the right choice. We try to make them as thorough as possible. We also provide you with prices because we know how important that is. There are no brand partnerships here and that’s why you can trust us! We will tell you the truth about the technology we review. Here are some of the drones we have reviewed:
Why a Drone GoPro when there are other action cameras available?
Simple, because we believe in the GoPro camera. Not just because of the brand or quality but also because of all the accessories and support. If you have paid attention to different drones then you have noticed the high amount of mounts made specifically for it. That’s why it makes sense to us to use it. Of course there are other cameras out there as well and that’s why we also review other brands! We don’t believe in just one option, we want YOU to make the best decision!

How to choose the Best Drone for GoPro?
First thing you need to consider is the price. This combination is not the cheapest because you have to pay in mind that the drone has to be powerful enough to carry a camera. Obviously as a beginner you don’t want to pay that much. That’s why I would recommend starting with just a tiny quadcopter such as the Syma X1. This way you’ll see if you even enjoy flying. You can read more about that at our Beginners Guide To Drones. Going cheap on the drone is not a wise choice. You have to read reviews to find the best price and quality combination. You can expect the drone alone to cost around $300 – 700.
Honestly it’s always the best to go with a UAV that has accessories for your camera. This is why we love the GoPro because it’s the most popular camera out there with tons of mounting options. Make sure you always read about how to mount the camera to the drone you are buying. For example the Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 has no extra mounts and you have to use creativity. You can read more about mounting here.
This is the most important part. You have to make sure the quadcopter you are getting can fly with the camera. This is why it’s best to buy one that is specifically made for action cameras. For example the DJI Phantom 2, Blade 350 QX. They are all created for the Drone GoPro purpose. Of course you can also use different cameras but at least this way you know that they are powerful enough.
